Lyrics
Every now and then I start to feel empty,
a soul hollowed by life modern day.
Deep within I'm longing,
for passage through time,
as I walk down the paths I have strayed.
Many years have passed,
but the memories still last,
I wish this was still the road home.
Something draws my heart back to the valley,
where slate from the earth built my town.
Though the years allowed it,
to break down in time,
its legacy I pledge to hand down.
Many years have passed,
but the memories still last,
I wish this was still the road home.
With each step that I take I feel closer,
to that magical place and blessed tree,
the willow still stands where I dreamed as a child,
so thankful this place sheltered me.
Through the trees I hold out my fingers,
feel the leaves glide by like memories.
From rocks of slate I gaze into the quarries,
reflecting among the calm autumn breeze.
Many years have passed,
but the memories still last,
I wish this was still the road home.
Many years have passed,
but the memories still last,
I wish this was still the road home.
